- Philipp Kullen
The sound artist, musician and composer Philipp Kullen (born 1979 in Berlin) studied Percussion and Drums, Jazz, Pop and World-Music in Cuba, New York, Spain and Brazil. He completed his diploma at The Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin. From 2006 to 2010 he has been on a music tour all over Europe. From 2009 to 2011, at the UdK Berlin, he dealt with the possibilities of an creative handling of sound and space. Since 2009 he realized various sound installations and performances. His works are concerned with eliciting new sounds from common instruments, like gongs or drums, with the help of electronic techniques, and with making those new sounds perceptible. The perception of sounds and vibrations as a way to explore correlations between space, time and mind, can be named his present central topic.
